## Reduce type leakage between GraphQL schemas
### Why
Twenty runs two separate GraphQL schemas: **core** and **metadata**.
NestJS's `@nestjs/graphql` uses a global `TypeMetadataStorage` that
accumulates all decorated types across all modules. When each schema is
built, every registered type leaks into both schemas regardless of which
module it belongs to.
This means the core schema's generated TypeScript
(`generated/graphql.ts`) contained ~2,700 lines of types that only
belong to the metadata schema (and vice versa). This creates confusion
about type ownership, inflates generated code, and makes it harder to
reason about which API surface each schema actually exposes.
### How
**1. Patch `@nestjs/graphql` to support schema-scoped type resolution**
- **(Already done)** Added a `resolverSchemaScope` option to
`GqlModuleOptions`, allowing each schema to declare a scope (e.g.
`'metadata'`)
- `ResolversExplorerService` now filters resolvers by a
`RESOLVER_SCHEMA_SCOPE` metadata key, so each schema only sees its own
resolvers
- `GraphQLSchemaFactory` now performs a **reachability walk**
(`computeReachableTypes`) starting from scoped resolver return types and
arguments, only including types that are transitively referenced —
handling unions, interfaces, and prototype chains
- Type definition storage and orphaned reference registry are cleared
between schema builds to prevent cross-contamination
**2. Register `ClientConfig` as orphaned type in metadata schema**
Since `ClientConfig` is needed in the metadata schema but not directly
returned by a resolver, it's explicitly declared via
`buildSchemaOptions.orphanedTypes`.
**3. Regenerate frontend types and fix imports**
- `generated/graphql.ts` shrank by ~2,700 lines (types moved to where
they belong)
- `generated-metadata/graphql.ts` gained types like `ClientConfig` that
were previously missing
- ~500 frontend files updated to import from the correct generated file
Fixes
https://github.com/twentyhq/private-issues/issues/410#issuecomment-3781085655
Currently, JSON keys with spaces like { "toto toto": 123 } are rejected
with "JSON keys cannot contain spaces" error. This is problematic for
HTTP requests and webhook triggers where users cannot control the
response structure.
We use Handlebars to eval variables, segment-literal bracket notation to
escape keys with special characters:
Normal: {{step.normalKey}}
With spaces: `{{step.[key with space]}}`
So we simply need to wrap segments with spaces with brackets.
This PR:
- Create shared path utilities to wrap the variable segments when needed
- Use it in all variable generation places
- Remove the restrictions
This body is now supported:

/>
## Summary
This PR enforces the use of `@/` alias for imports instead of relative
parent imports (`../`).
## Changes
### ESLint Configuration
- Added `no-restricted-imports` pattern in `eslint.config.react.mjs` to
block `../*` imports with the message "Relative parent imports are not
allowed. Use @/ alias instead."
- Removed the non-working `import/no-relative-parent-imports` rule
(doesn't work properly in ESLint flat config)
### VS Code Settings
- Added `javascript.preferences.importModuleSpecifier: non-relative` to
`.vscode/settings.json` (TypeScript setting was already there)
### Code Fixes
- Fixed **941 relative parent imports** across **706 files** in
`packages/twenty-front`
- All `../` imports converted to use `@/` alias
## Why
- Consistent import style across the codebase
- Easier to move files without breaking imports
- Better IDE support for auto-imports
- Clearer understanding of where imports come from
## Summary
This PR adds the `lingui/no-unlocalized-strings` ESLint rule to detect
untranslated strings and fixes translation issues across multiple
components.
## Changes
### ESLint Configuration (`eslint.config.react.mjs`)
- Added comprehensive `ignore` patterns for non-translatable strings
(CSS values, HTML attributes, technical identifiers)
- Added `ignoreNames` for props that don't need translation (className,
data-*, aria-*, etc.)
- Added `ignoreFunctions` for console methods, URL APIs, and other
non-user-facing functions
- Disabled rule for debug files, storybook, and test files
### Components Fixed (~19 files)
- Object record components (field inputs, pickers, merge dialogs)
- Settings components (accounts, admin panel)
- Serverless function components
- Record table and title cell components
## Status
🚧 **Work in Progress** - ~124 files remaining to fix
This PR is being submitted as draft to allow progressive fixing of
remaining translation issues.
## Testing
- Run `npx eslint "src/**/*.tsx"` in `packages/twenty-front` to check
remaining issues
# Closes Issue: Can't distinguish between fields with identical names
(#16285)
There was a UX bug in the workflow filter interface where **two
variables coming from different steps but sharing the same field name**
were displayed identically. This made it difficult for users to tell
them apart when used in a filter group, leading to confusion when
building workflows.
---
# Fix: Add Full Path Label Tooltip for Workflow Filter Field
- Adds a **tooltip/label showing the complete path** so users can
distinguish fields from different workflow steps even if they share the
same name.

Fixes https://github.com/twentyhq/core-team-issues/issues/1382
Current issue : all step output schemas are computed and stored on
backend side. Which means that, when the database schema is updated -
like a field creation - steps needs to be deleted an recreated. Which is
invisible to users.
Solution : schema generation is moved on frontend side
1. Coming on the page the first time, the schema is populated for all
steps except a few ones that are handled differently (Code, Webhook,
http node, Agent)
2. A separated state allow to determine if a step needs a recomputation.
3. The user only needs a refresh to see the whole schema re-computed
Follow-up:
- check if remaining backend steps could be moved to runtime
computation. But Code will still require storage.
- Clean backend service that is not used anymore

- Added a new component for manual trigger (mostly duplicated from
previous one). Will remove the old one once all data are migrated
- Updated schema output so the current item of the iterator can be typed
Todo left:
- migrate old triggers
- add an util to search iterator output. Today current item fields will
be displayed as not found
- set new manual triggers for workflow runs
In the case of DB events, id field will be prefixed with
'property.after'. This is why we need to use the fieldIdName when
provided.
Before: When providing only id, Company variable is {{trigger.id}}.
Which does not exists on DB event output schema

Previous refacto was creating output schema V2 which has more specific
schemas based on the step type. Before we were using one common schema,
which was too complex when searching for variable informations.
This PR migrate the deprecated schemas and remove the old code:
- mark previous `BaseOutputSchema` as deprecated
- remove other previous schemas
- use V2 everywhere
- icon should not be stored in schema. Instead it should be generated
based on the fieldmetadata or the item type
The goal of this PR is to test if Twenty can support a large number of
members, a question which was raised by a large company that is
considering moving away from Salesforce.
I was expecting the currentWorkspaceMembersState to cause a lot more
issue. It would be very hard to get rid of it in the context of actors,
I think that would require a big refactoring. I thought we'd have to do
it but it turns out the perf are pretty good. One thing we need to
improve is the pagination on the roles page, we'll wait for @Bonapara to
update that
Today WorkflowVariablesDropdownAllItems is used for variable picker in
all workflow steps, and for step field picker in filters.
Using that component in filters prevent us from knowing if a full record
or only the id has been selected.
This PR:
- creates a new component WorkflowDropdownStepOutputItems, mostly
copying the logic of WorkflowVariablesDropdownAllItems
- call it WorkflowStepFilterFieldSelect, removing the display logic from
that parent component
- store isFullRecord in filter. So we now know if we should display a
record picker or a uuid picker
Before - selecting id makes picker behaves like when we select an object
https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/bde34dc5-8011-4983-8d0f-d8cb0cb3c045
After - selecting object and id are two different things
https://github.com/user-attachments/assets/49289990-3e6d-4ad7-abc1-e3ade2a821bb
The code to search variables became too complex. This is mainly because
it tries to handle all use cases at once:
- steps returning records (MANUAL TRIGGER, CREATE RECORD...)
- steps returning record events
- primitive types (code, webhook...)
- forms
To make the code maintainable, let's make a few updates:
- clear schema output types for each steps
- group the output types that are similar and implement a search schema
function for each
- once this is implemented on frontend, let's remove the logic on
backend side. Schema should be recompute and not stored
This PR implement the refacto for steps returning records and events.
This PR prepares the refactor of record field definition and column
definition.
We need to separate the two concepts of FieldInput and FieldContext at
the cell level, and the new RecordField concept that will replace
FieldDefinition at the metadata and state level.
So we create a new ui sub-folder in the already existing record-field
folder, in order to separate those two concepts that are still very
close.
When the target is not in the direct next step ids of the source (step
or trigger), check if there is a filter between both. If yes, delete the
filter and remove it from source next step ids.
Also refactored the existing.
This PR cleans a few parts of the workflow features and fixes a few
improper behaviors.
Here is a non-exaustive list of improved things:
- Clicking on an action will always reset the command menu's navigation
stack. Previously, the behavior wasn't unified between workflows,
workflow versions and workflow runs.
- Opening a step in the side panel is now down in the `onClick` event
handler put on individual Reactflow nodes. This makes interoperability
between filters (which are buttons on edges) and traditional actions.
- Simplified the code that automatically opens pending forms in the side
panel. This feature should now work more predictably.
- Splitted the `WorkflowDiagramEmptyTrigger` component into
`WorkflowDiagramEmptyTriggerEditable` and
`WorkflowDiagramEmptyTriggerReadonly`. This makes handling events easier
as the behavior isn't the same in both cases.
- Dropped all `useOnSelectionChange` hooks that were used to open steps
in the side panel upon user selection.
- Created a specific `WorkflowRunDiagramStepNode` instead of using
`WorkflowDiagramStepNodeReadonly` in `WorkflowRunDiagramCanvas`
- Deleted `useHandleWorkflowRunDiagramCanvasInit` as it was used to open
the initially selected step in the command menu, which is now handled in
an effect that works for all cases, including workflow run's state
refreshing.

This PR removes any V2 naming in state management logic and some minor
utils and hooks.
It has a lot of changes but nearly all of them were made by the rename
functionality of vscode which is deterministic, so it shouldn't
introduce any regression.
QA has been made on this PR on the main features of the app without any
noticeable issue.
Also renamed some other v2 naming related items :
- TextInputV2 => TextInput
- TextInput => SettingsTextInput
- ObjectFilterDropdownFilterSelectMenuItemV2 =>
ObjectFilterDropdownFilterSelectMenuItem
- useInitDraftValueV2 => useInitDraftValue
- useOpenRecordTableCellV2 => useOpenRecordTableCell
